My true passions lie in enabling businesses and individuals to achieve their true potential and be the very best they can be at all levels. Business is about people and relationships so getting them to work effectively is the key to success. I have worked in a wide variety of sectors in both international and local contexts.
As a coach I have a strong interest in working with partnerships, family businesses and female entrepreneurs as this is where I have gained most of my experience.
I have worked for over 30 years in strategic planning, retail, business coaching, training and development. My career began having qualified with a degree in Environmental Science, meeting Anita and Gordon Roddick whilst travelling in India. My husband and I were asked to create The Body Shop International’s Environmental and Community Projects Department. This was ground-breaking work and way ahead of its time!! We created the Environmental Policies and ensured they were implemented and audited globally! A community engagement programme was established whereby staff worked half a day a month in a charity or campaigning organisation. I embedded this throughout the company ensuring even the senior leadership team took part! I subsequently became a franchisee of the retail operation, owning two Body Shop franchises in Cornwall. These stores became flagship stores for the company and I represented the UK on the Global Franchisee Advisory Board.
I went on to open a restaurant whilst still running the Body Shops – that was a crazy idea and eventually in 2007 when I knew the Company was due to be taken over by L’Oreal I sold up all the businesses and became a freelance business consultant and coach. I restructured the retail operation of Eden Project, established a software distribution house for a South African Company and went on to move into education running the Empowering Smart Women Programme. This led me into coaching & mentoring which I have loved doing ever since!
